Getting Started With Twitter

Getting started with Twitter may be overwhelming for some people who don’t really know where to begin. I’ve made a short, simple list to take you through the process and make your first step into the Twitterverse a smooth one.

  1. Sign up for a Twitter account
    Signing up for an account is easy, all you need is an email address
  2. Browse the categories
    Find people who you want to follow that may be offering quality information that you’re interested in.
  3. Upload your profile picture
    Click on “Profile” in the top right and then click on the default profile picture with a + sign to bring you to the uploading screen.
  4. Update your profile info
    1. website url
    2. location
    3. bio
  5. Upload your custom background
  6. Add yourself to directories
    1. wefollow.com
    2. twibs.com
    3. listorious.com
    4. twellow.com
    5. mytwitterdirectory.com
  7. Follow people in your industry from those directories
  8. Of course, follow me at http://twitter.com/tresnicmedia.
